I am happy to be able to help but it sure would nice to win one of the homes as I am getting up in years, and to have that kind of security would make my life a whole lot easier, as well as to know that when I pass, my Sons life would be less stressful and more enjoyable. All the prizes are wonderful and this is for a great cause. We all, unfortunately, will need a hospital sometime in our lives so win or not I am happy to contribute. One thing....in the VT I did not see any of the closets in the bedrooms! I haven,t had a chance to tour the home in person! I,m thinking the Master closet is more that sufficient and I guess I will know for sure when you draw my number Lol. Thank you for all you do.....P.C.W. Calgary Alberta - Penny W.

I was looking for a picture of the lake the house sits on. But I can't find one. Google earth shows the location as a mound of dirt..not a lake in site. The lake looks more like an irrigation pond from the pictures through the windows. Why would you use any water craft on it? Love the house though. Beautiful. Wish it had 4 bedrooms, but I guess you could always renovate the exercise room and equipment room into a 4th guest bed. We need a 4 bedroom or even 5 as my mother inlaw moved in with us to help me out now that I am chronically ill and can't look after my family or house alone anymore. ITs tough being crammed into a 950 sqf house with 5 people, 3 dogs and a cat. and only 1 bathroom with no accessible shower..so I LOVE, LOVE,LOVE that shower in the bathroom..accept its at the top of the stairs..ahh well. Build a lift with the 50,000....ahh looking forward to some space to live and a shower to shower in...can't wait for the draw :-) - Rebecca M.

I would be more impressed if the lottery provided homes that the average person could actually afford rather than the luxury homes that cater only to those with money. Instead of a couple of 2 million dollar homes why not have 3 or 4 regular homes that the average family can actually afford to live in and maintain. It is unfortunate, really. AW - Ann W.

I have tickets to this lottery and was wondering when the draw will be. I searched for the answer on the tickets---no luck. I searched for the answer in the ad in the Calgary Herald---no luck. I had to search this web-site to find the answer. Why is it so difficult to find this information? In my experience with small fund-raising lotteries, provincial regulations state that the draw dates must be displayed on the tickets. Barb O. - Barbara O.

hi, It is my first time ever to participate in any lottery, it attracted me because of the cause behind it , atleast the money i have spend will go to some good and i appreciate it. House is wonderful other prices are very attractive. once i booked my ticket through phone as i wanted to be part of the VIP price i noticed that the amount was deducted after 7-10 days , can u please tell me how to check i was part of the initial draw or not. and from which date the buyer is considered for the lottery , as in my case there is a gap between thhe day i booked my ticket and provided all required information , so it is not my fault - azmat G.
Thank you for your support! All orders placed before a deadline are included in the draw. Therefore, if you placed your order prior to the VIP deadline you would have been included in the draw. Orders are processed at KPMG, the accounting firm of record, which could be up to a few days after you place your order. We hope this answers your question.

How about posting the total $$$ brought in from ticket sales and the total spent on hospital equipment then a simple breakdown on the cost of the prizes. Not a chance that home worth 2 million even if you paid 5X the value for the furniture I could have a contractor duplicate it including furnishings for closer to 1.5 million. All the prizes are well above retail but we can look the other way to your fancy accounting and go with your numbers. Now do a simple breakdown to show how much is spent on advertizing via TV, Radio, direct mailing and we will quickly see who’s the real recipient of the $$$ these home lotteries generate. If each of them had to post the same information I’m sure we’d see the same folks profiteering in each much more then the advertized beneficiaries. This being the case it should be called the “Advertisers Home Lottery Income Fund.” Guess that would not sell as many tickets. - Jo S.
The lotteries have raise over $87 million for the Hospitals since they began in 1993. For more information on how the proceeds of this lottery will be directed please visit http://calgaryhomelottery.ca/proceeds.php

I thought this home was colourless, lifeless, boring and more rustic but not in a good way. Too many earth tones and no pizzazz. It is not done up in an attractive and inviting way, but is rather cold and unwelcoming. One of the few things I liked was the chandelier above the dining table. The decorating and staging was poorly done. The home mostly looks old and worn down and I prefer modern, as in looking new, with lots of bling and sparkle. I really thought the wood plank wall in the master bedroom was awful. I also think the surf shop thing is really a waste of space and might make sense if the home was by the ocean somewhere. If I bought a ticket, I would definitely unload the home and sell it quickly. I cannot see anyone justifying the high cost of this home. - Jasmine C.
Why so negative? Find a style that every single person is going to love. It won't happen, but the fact is the majority of feedback on this home has been very positive. You don't have to love it, but at the end of the day, don't forget that it's for a good cause. It certainly shouldn't make you angry! - John S.

There are so many aspects of the house that are fabulous so it's hard to pick one thing. Our 12 year old daughter loves the boys room but her favourite thing is the dock. She's a water bug and so for her this would be the best thing ever. For the naysayers who don't like this or don't like that..... buy a ticket and should you be fortunate enough to win it, sell it. The money raised from the sale of the tickets goes to a very worthy cause. There are no losers. - Lena A.

Huge and beautiful home. I've never win anything, maybe this is the year, but I wouldn't keep this house more than a year. I believe you can sell it after a year living in it, we are a family of three. My opinion is that you can have 3 good houses and a condo for 2 millions. One house with all decorations, the other one with just the necessary appliances, and the rest with nothing in it (3 more people happier or better) - V S.
Actually, lottery winnings in Canada are considered windfalls and are not taxable. The moment you take title of your new home, it is yours to do with as you wish. You can move in, sell it, rent it — whatever you choose.
Hi V.S. I so agree about having one or two places instead of one huge one.. but this house is lovely and I would love to live in something like this. But we have an adult daughter with special needs who lives with us and our living arrangements are best met with two small homes or a Duplex or two condos close to each other so she could have one with her caregivers and my husband could have one and get our privacy back .. which ever way if we win it would be the answer to our retirement and my daughter's future.. Mom and Dad need to live close and keep an eye on her care. If we don't win I hope someone who really needs this in their life wins it! DH - Dena H.
For sure Dena I also agree "If we don't win I hope someone who really needs this in their life wins it!", I hope you can win it thou, more than I do. GOD bless your daughter and your family. I hope you win it......! But, my plans have been always to sell it and buy a cheaper home and use the rest of the money to help others....my family and I are happy and healthy....priceless. That house will separate us....no contact among each other, place is too big....bad combination.... - V S.
I would definitely prefer it to remain as it is. ONE BIG INSPIRATIONAL HOME. I love an inspiration house rather than THREE smaller homes. - sylvia T.

I was so very disappointed that this year there is no condo in Invermere, or Canmore, as that was always my greatest interest. The homes are 'way too big, but a condo within a 3-hr. drive of Calgary would be fantastic. I hope you will offer more than just one very large home in the future. If I thnk my chances are reasonably good to win a major prize (home, cash, 10-day trip to Europe) I will be much more likely to buy a ticket. It is a good cause, of course, & I will probably buy a ticket later on, but with less excitement. I wish you would wait 'til later, like you used to, after the other Hospital lotteries are completed, to begin your promotions. - Shirley D.
Shirley, here is a simplification of your odds. Buy a ticket and you have a chance to win the house or any of the other prizes. Don't buy a ticket and your chances are 0. The lottery will be fine if you don't feel it is worth it to buy a ticket. They will sell out very quickly even though you feel it is not the correct time for you. I for one would be very happy to be in my new home for Christmas. - Dawn P.
Hi Shirley I do like your idea of having two homes for this lottery. Less expensive but still very nice with one being worth more and then 2nd one on the 5-700 thousands Not everyone can use a condo in Canmore or any other place out of town but if you win you can sell the home and buy a condo of your choice and where you want it? I think that would be more fun! You don't even need to live in the house and can sell it right away! I see that as a win-win and always a good thing to help our hospitals. I hope someone who really needs this to help them in their lives wins!!! Most anything looks good when you live you're living in a mobile home like we are .. :) Sincerely, Dena - Dena H.

Best feature - Home Theatre Worst feature - it's a toss up between the barn board on the bedroom wall or the bricks. Still, a $100 house is pretty much a free house. It only takes one ticket to win. Things can be changed. - Becky S.

Somebody is lying. The map shows the location as about six blocks from the lake and the rear exterior view shows waterfront. Get your act together people. What part of your presentation is wrong? - Arnold M.
We use Google Maps on our website because it is a tool you can use to find your way to the showhome from your current location. However, Google maps does not provide a real-time view of the neighborhood and does not necessarily show all the details (such as parks and water), particularly in new developments. The location of the home as indicated on the map is correct as are the photos. This is a Lakefront home. It is open for viewing starting Saturday August 31, please come out and see it!
Arnold, get a grip - no one is lying! I saw the home on the weekend, backs on the lake channel. It is a beautiful home. Google maps does not show accurately for new locations. - Jen B.

Cash - I really liked the cabin in the mountains last year as an additional prize way better than the car. Last year the showhome was beautiful, this year it looks pretty substandard in terms of the finishes they used inside (brick? really? so 1970s - we've moved into a new home - 2 years - in an upper end neighborhood and everyone uses stone on the outside. Also has low grade carpet). This year I'll buy tickets to support the cause, but don't really care if I win as last year's house and cabin in Canmore was way better. - Susan S.
